What it does

Everything a counter needs, and one thing most tills get wrong.

Scanning, discounts, shifts, stock, reports and invoices - plus a pricing model that doesn’t trust the machine sitting on the counter.

The one that matters

Prices are decided by the server, not the till.

When a cashier presses Charge, the till sends item IDs and quantities. That’s it. The server re-reads every item’s real price from your catalogue, applies the quantity tier, the discount, the tax and the totals, and writes the sale inside a single transaction. What the cashier saw on screen was only a preview.

A tampered till cannot change what a sale costs.

One transaction, or none. Sale lines and stock deductions run together with row-level locking. A failure part-way through rolls the whole thing back - stock is left untouched.

Discount caps enforced where they can't be bypassed. A cashier’s cap is checked on the server. Above it, a manager has to approve.

Point of sale

Scan a barcode or tap an item. Quantity price tiers apply live, discounts work per line or across the cart, and cash, card, UPI and bank transfer are all accepted with automatic change. Prints a thermal receipt.

Cashier shifts

A cashier signs on with an opening float and signs off by counting the drawer. R-POS works out expected versus counted and records the variance as a real row in the database, not a number that disappears on refresh.

Inventory with an audit trail

Stock in, stock out, or set to a counted figure. Every change writes a signed history row with the amount, the reason and the user who made it. Low stock is flagged against the minimum level you set per item.

Reports

Sales across any date range, top sellers, sales by category, and a profit report with cost of goods and margin. Export any of it to PDF.

Invoices

Search and filter by date, payment method or customer. PDF invoices use your own currency, tax rate, store details and invoice prefix - not a hardcoded template.

Roles that actually restrict

Cashier, manager and admin are enforced on all ~70 internal operations, not just hidden in the interface. Cashiers have a configurable discount cap and need a manager to go above it.

Your data, your machine

R-POS runs against a database you own, on your own hardware or local network. The till has no per-transaction dependency on anyone else’s servers.

A till is the one computer in the shop that handles money, is left logged in, and is used by whoever is on shift. These are the decisions that follow from that.

Roles decided where it counts

The interface can read who is signed in; it cannot say who is signed in. All ~70 internal operations check the role in the main process before doing any work, so a cashier calling an admin operation is simply refused.

No outbound network calls

A strict content security policy means nothing loads from anywhere but the application itself, and outbound requests are blocked. Charts and icons are shipped inside the app rather than fetched.

Backups that do not leak

Exports exclude password hashes. Imports add catalogue rows only, so they cannot overwrite your sales history from a file.

Yes. R-POS talks to a database on your own machine or local network, so the till keeps selling as long as that database is reachable. The application makes no outbound network calls at all - they are blocked outright, and the charts and icons it uses ship inside the app rather than loading from the web.

Barcode scanners work as keyboard input - scan into the search box and the item is added to the cart. Receipts print through your operating system’s printer, formatted for thermal receipt paper. Send us your exact models before the demo and we will confirm them on the call.
